Job Description
Position Purpose
The Volunteer Social Worker will support the LDW project team in implementing programs that promote domestic workers’ rights, access to justice, prevention of gender-based violence, economic empowerment, voice and participation, and movement building.
Key Responsibilities
The volunteer will:
- Support the project team in planning and implementing community activities and outreach.
- Participate in community mobilization and awareness-raising activities with domestic workers, employers, and community leaders.
- Support identification and referral of domestic workers experiencing violence, exploitation, or other protection concerns to appropriate service providers.
- Assist in providing basic psychosocial support and follow-up to beneficiaries, under the guidance of the project team.
- Support activities related to access to justice, including linking domestic workers with relevant legal and social support services.
- Support economic empowerment activities, including savings groups, skills development, and entrepreneurship activities.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, dialogues, forums, and other project events.
- Assist in collecting beneficiary information, activity data, success stories, and feedback.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity, safety, and rights of all beneficiaries.
- Prepare brief activity reports and provide regular updates to the project team.
- Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor in support of LDW programs.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Strong interest in women’s rights, gender equality, social justice, and community development.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work respectfully with domestic workers and vulnerable groups.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic skills in report writing and data collection.
- Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and ethical conduct.

Support Provided
LDW will provide the selected volunteer with a monthly transport allowance to support participation in approved organizational and project activities.
Note: This is a volunteer position and does not constitute formal employment with LDW. The volunteer will work under the guidance and supervision of the LDW project/program team.
