Position: Senior Manager, Recovery
Based in: Dar es Salaam

Responsible for developing and implementing recovery strategies, managing non-performing assets, maximizing recoveries, minimizing credit losses, and ensuring effective arrears management while leading a high-performing recovery team.

The role

• Develop and implement recovery strategies, policies, and processes.
• Drive achievement of recovery targets and enhance recovery performance.
• Manage and monitor non-performing and impaired credit facilities.
• Recommend and implement appropriate recovery actions, including restructuring, settlements, litigation, and asset realization.
• Supervise debt collectors, auctioneers, and the Recovery team to ensure optimal performance.
• Prepare recovery plans, portfolio reports, and management updates.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
• Identify recovery risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Qualifications and Experience
• Performing any other duties as may be delegated or assigned from time to time.

The candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ banking experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in credit recovery, distressed asset management, and loan restructuring.
• Strong knowledge of credit risk management, recovery strategies, and relevant legal frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
