Job description
Alaf Limited is looking for a Project Sales Officer to drive growth and market leads for ALAF Building Solutions as a business. The role focuses on accelerating product penetration to achieve maximum levels of volume, revenue, yield, and profit.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales by identifying and managing customer accounts, as well as opening new markets based on customer requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively identify, engage, and drive sales of Light Gauge Steel Trussing based on targeted customers.
- Work closely with architects, quantity surveyors, and structural engineers from the project design stage to create enquiries for building solution products and convert them into sales.
- Generate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from 3-D and 2-D drawings.
- Identify and create opportunities and solutions in new markets.
- Create and update SPANCO on a daily basis.
- Develop and manage new Building Solutions sales within existing and new channels.
- Ensure delivery of monthly volume targets for:
- Light Gauge Steel Trussing products
- Value-added products
- Lifestile
- Tekdek
- Maxcover
- Structural steel
- Track enquiries, convert them into orders, and ensure timely billing to customers.
- Follow up to ensure customer orders are processed efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Ensure achievement of monthly collection targets.
- Prepare daily market visit reports and report on:
- Payment collection
- Enquiries
- Won projects
- Lost orders
- Develop relationships with the influencer community, including:
- Architects
- Quantity Surveyors
- Structural Engineers
- Contracting Community
- Key End-users
- Liaise with cross-functional teams and partners to develop new propositions for targeted customers.
- Build go-to-market strategies for Building Solutions, including traded and manufactured accessories.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with specialization in one of the following areas:
- Quantity Surveying
- Structural Engineering
- Architecture
- Technical Survey
- Postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage, such as:
- MBA
- Diploma in Sales and Marketing
- Professional registration with Sales, Marketing, or Engineering bodies.
- Minimum of two (2) years of sales experience, preferably in the steel industry or building/construction materials sector.
- Good negotiation skills and decision-making ability.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work long hours as and when required.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
