Job Description


Aga Khan Health Service, Tanzania (AKHST) – an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network(AKDN), a not-for-profit international organization that supports social development programs in Tanzania. It has completed a major expansion to position the institution to become a leading and integrated tertiary and teaching health care system in Tanzania.

As part of its health systems strengthening initiatives in working with and supporting Government health programmes, AKHST and (BMZ / KFW) are partnering on a new comprehensive COVID 19 vaccination project aiming at increasing access to and scaling up COVID 19 vaccination through Private Public Partnership (PPP) with Tanzanian-based partners: Regional and Council Health Management Teams in delivering a full range of vaccination services. The Project implementation areas include; Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha, Morogoro Coastal Regional and Tabora.

AKHST is seeking for enthusiastic and qualified experienced personnel for the following positions to be part of this exciting project:

PROJECT DRIVER (5 POSITION)

Reporting to: The Administration and Logistics Officer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Driver will serve as the primary Driverof the Mobile Medical Vehicle and assists with the delivery of services and management, and navigation of participants on and off the mobile unit. He/She assists with preparations and ongoing maintenance of the Mobile Medical Vehicle such as ensuring overall cleanliness before, during, and after visits; performing equipment checks; maintaining inventory supplies; and performing other duties required to support the Mobile Medical Vehicle’s readiness to operate.

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Minimum Form Four Education.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Driving Certificate from National Institute of Transportation (NIT)
  • Must have Valid Class C Driving License
  • Must be able to safely assist patients with or without assistance
  • Capable of a flexible work schedule, with possibility of very occasional 10- hour days, may include weekend shifts
  • Must be able to understand and comply with the applicable institutional rules and regulations.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hours).
