A Pastry Chef bakes various desserts in a kitchen. Their main duties include following recipes to create pastries, cookies  and other baked goods, developing new and unique recipes to feature on the menu and keeping stock of the kitchen’s  inventory. As a Pastry Chef, you are responsible for operating the pastry section of the kitchen while working closely  with the Executive Chef and Chef. A Pastry Chef will also be required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings.


  1. a) Operate and manage all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of a kitchen, working together with other chefs.
  2. b) Prepare a variety of baked goods and be able to develop, designs, or creates new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen
  3. c) Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
  4. d) Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
  5. e) Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations


The ideal candidate for this role should have

  • Good knowledge of different types of pastry, dessert, cake decorating.
  • Possess professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school certificate or 3 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
