Job Description


The primary responsibility inclues ole will be in the areas of Credit Review of Credit Assessments, Control over the advances portfolio of the Bank by way of continous monitoringand Control, enhancing monitoring / supervision techniques to much with higher standards. The incumbent is the key personnel in building systems to manage a growing credit portfolio of DTB Tanzania.

  • Review of Credit Portfolio – on daily basis, identifying the key accounts for follow up and regularization. The officer shall liaise directly with Head of Credit Review & Control to identify stressed assets and possible remedies to ensure accounts do not deterior.
  • Review of Credit Assessments conducted by Business teams to ensure that the proposal falls within the internal and regulatory guidelines of the Bank.
  • Identify all overdrawings on accounts which have been done without proper approvals and ensure accountability is held and regularization is followed up to closure.
  • Follow through with the credit control framework for submission and review of periodic returns from clients.
  • Follow up and monitor through a framework of post disbursement review, all key parameters/ conditions of sanction, including but not limited to – financial/ account operations, submsission of updated financials for review, security perfection concluded, compliance with approval conditions by MCC, TRC and BCC.
  • Enhanced supervision on low rated, stressed accounts – including NPAs working closely with DRU as required.
  • Enhanced supervision on rescheduled facilities – to ensure assets continue to perfom well.
  • Ensure all matters regarding security perfection, lease tenor renewals, extensions for counter guarantees, etc… are done timely up to conclusion.
  • Ensure continuous close relationships with all lenders with whom the bank shares parri parru securities.
  • Shall provide support to Debt Recovery Unit (DRU) in follow up on all actions under the unit as and when required.
  • Prepare Board Papers – in conjunction with Corporate, Credit Administration and Credit Review and Control, in addition to any other reports as per requirements; and subsequent action points shared by Head – CRC and Head of Credit following all meetings held.
  • Build up expertise to assess Credit Applications – assessing the risk of each application. ate.
  • Ensure efffective Business Continuity Plan for the department.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
Qualifications :
  • University degree in accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, economics or related field.
  • Master’s degree / Post Graduate Degree in Business, Commerce, Economics or related subjects is an added advantage.

Experience :

  • Minimum of 1-3 three years of banking experience in Credit department preferably handling corporate credit assessments.
  • Strong evaluation, communication and reporting skills
  • Good at managing large volumes of information and can add value through management reporting.
  • Builds relationships and network easily
  • Good numerical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Task completion (100%)
  • Number of reviews completed
  • Quality of the Credit Portfolio.
  • Level Competence development
  • Number of Items overdue.
