Maternity Africa ( is a Christian-based, charitable, non-governmental organization registered in Tanzania.  It is devoted to making childbirth safe by providing access to good maternity services and treatment of obstetric fistulae and other birth related injuries. We serve the poorest, most vulnerable women by providing free, quality reproductive health care.  All programs have been developed to have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of mother and child by minimizing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Maternity Africa is committed to its mission of making childbirth safe and demonstrating the love and compassion of Christ to all regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.

This role plays a major part in presenting the image of our organization as it involves a lot of interactions with our clients. We therefore require a candidate with a pleasant personality, understands the concepts of customer care, able to be firm without coming across as arrogant and rude to the clients/patients and communicates effectively.

Job Responsibilities

• Patients Data Entry
• Receive all patients arriving at the hospital in office hours.
• Provide a file with initial patient information for every new admission to the ward or patients being seen in Gynecologistclinic
• Collect the files of discharged patients from the ward, and enter all relevant data in the Data base
• Maintain order and a good filing system of all patient files
• Direct patients to the appropriate department when they arrive
• Keep good records of all Antenatal Clinic (ANC) patient numbers
• Take and relay messages
• Provide information to callers
• Greet persons entering hospital
• Direct persons to correct destination
• Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
• Provide general administrative and clerical support
• Schedule clinical appointments
• Control inventory relevant to reception area
• Tidy and maintain the reception area
• Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor

     Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Medical Records orHealth Information Systems. Any qualifications in Front Office Receptionist, Customer Care or Social Work will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of four (4) years working experience.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
• Strong computers skills.
• Competent in customer service principles and practices.
• Strong interpersonal Skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
