Job Description

Date: 25-Aug-2021

Location: UK/UK remote, OR, Flexible

Company: Plan International

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

As the Head of Internal Communications, Engagement and Knowledge Management you will be responsible for leading and managing internal communications, engagement, and knowledge management across Plan International, amplifying the work of colleagues worldwide to inspire each other, through ensuring effective execution of internal communications activities, facilitating engagement across the organisation and improving access to information, knowledge and learning.

We are looking for someone with gravitas and the skills to match to guide the most senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation offering direction, with the confidence to challenge if need be.

With strong, demonstrable knowledge and expertise of internal communications, in addition to experience developing and adapting internal communications strategies. You will be proficient in engagement, as well as have robust working expertise in knowledge management – preferably across a complex global organisation.

A reliable team player with strong people management skills – leader of leaders, empowering, coaching, and nurturing others.
