The company is seeking a self-motivated, committed and results-driven Finance Officer to join its Finance Department.

Required qualifications
Applicants must have:
- A degree in accounting, finance, business administration, taxation or another related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in budgeting, cost control and accounts payable.
- Tanzanian nationality.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- The ability to use Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages such as QuickBooks, Tally or an ERP system.
- A high level of discipline.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Effective time-management skills.
Key responsibilities
Budget responsibilities
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
- Assisting in formulating, analysing, verifying and consolidating draft budget proposals.
- Conducting financial analyses and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce costs across the company.
- Assisting in continuously monitoring the approved budget.
- Participating in the preparation of relevant financial reports.
- Preparing budget forecasts and ensuring their consistency with planned recruitment, procurement and operational decisions.
- Controlling the availability of funds and preparing detailed expenditure and budget statements supported by appropriate financial analysis.
- Ensuring that all expenditures are recorded in accordance with the organisation’s financial rules and regulations.
- Ensuring that the approved budget structure is applied correctly and consistently.
- Drafting correspondence and responding to queries concerning budget-related matters.
- Preparing responses to internal and external audit observations relating to the officer’s area of responsibility.
Payable tasks
The Finance Officer will:
- Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices and statements.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports against balances.
- Maintain historical financial records.
- Pay employees by verifying expense reports and preparing paycheques.
- Pay vendors by scheduling paycheques and ensuring payments are received for outstanding credit.
- Respond to vendor enquiries regarding financial matters.
- Prepare account analyses and produce monthly reports.
- Continuously improve the payment process.
Cost control tasks
The Finance Officer will:
- Monitor operational budgets for the company’s business activities based on the approved regular budget.
- Review and monitor the company’s routine financial expenditure in accordance with existing policies.
- Compare approved budgets against actual costs incurred to minimise cost variances.
- Manage company costs by monitoring established budgets against the company’s financial condition, ensuring all costs are recorded and informative reports are produced.
- Evaluate all project costs to ensure project effectiveness and alignment with the company’s business objectives.
- Facilitate the preparation of economic analyses for financial models and provide relevant advice on fees to support company decision-making.
- Monitor and review agreements for projects conducted by different departments to ensure compliance with prevailing Finance and Accounting Department policies.
