Job overview

LJ Ascendant Group is seeking a dedicated Environmental Specialist to oversee environmental compliance, sustainability measures, and mitigation plans throughout the construction of an airport project.

The Environmental Specialist will ensure that all operations strictly comply with local environmental regulations and the project-specific Environmental Management Plan (EMP).

Key responsibilities

The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for the following:

• Implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the Project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) on-site.
• Conducting regular environmental audits covering:
  • Noise control
  • Dust suppression
  • Waste management
  • Spill prevention
  • Water run-off
• Serving as the main point of contact for local environmental authorities, regulatory bodies, and community liaison.
• Preparing environmental compliance reports, incident investigations, and sustainability documentation.
• Providing environmental awareness training and tool-box talks to site personnel.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Management, or a related field.
• Must have served as an Environmental Expert or Environmental Specialist in at least one airport construction project within the last 10 years.
• Thorough knowledge of:
  • Local environmental legislation
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) frameworks
  • International environmental standards, including ISO 14001
• Professional certification in environmental management or auditing is preferred.
