Job Description

CONSULTANCY OPPORTUNITY

Girls Retention and Transition Initiative (GRTI) Complementary Baselines Survey

HakiElimu works to realise equity, quality, human rights and democracy in education by facilitating communities to transform schools and influence policy making; stimulating imaginative public dialogue and organising for change; conducting critical research; policy analysis and advocacy and collaborating with partners to advance common interests and social justice.

The overall goal of HakiElimu is an open, just and democratic society with quality education for all.

In the past two years one of HakiElimu’s programmatic focus in its 2017 – 2021 Strategic Plan has been on girls’ education. To this end, HakiElimu has implemented a Girls Retention and Transition Initiative (GRTI) in 11 districts. The initiative seeks to ensure that girls complete their schooling, and become young women who are empowered to reach their full potential, so they can earn their own livelihoods, which will benefit families as well as the economic growth of their communities and Tanzania.

Due to impressive results of the pilot phase, HakiElimu intends to scale up this initiative to 22 programme districts.
HakiElimu is therefore looking for a Consultant/Consultancy Firm to undertake a complementary baseline survey for the GRTI.

The details of the GRTI project and this assignment are provided in the Terms of Reference (ToR) which are accessible through www.hakielimu.or.tz.
Please also note that HakiElimu is committed to keeping children safe from abuse and harm. Consequently, candidates applying for provision of this consultancy service will be subjected to child safeguarding checks.

The organisation also promotes equal opportunities and strives to be fully representational to all groups. As HakiElimu also actively encourages diversity, qualified women and people with disability are encouraged to apply.
