Responsibilities for Commercial Manager

  • As a commercial manager you will be responsible for looking after projects, developing and managing delivery teams. Mastermind business growth strategies to help meet organizational goals and objectives
  • Build and nurture client relationships in order to continue winning new contracts
  • Ensure that the organization complies with contractual obligations as well as national laws and regulations
  • Conduct market research to inform strategic business decisions
  • Oversee branding and marketing endeavours to ensure all efforts are aligned with business goals
  • Negotiate new projects and contract terms with new clients

Other responsibilities to include:
· Subject to agreed criteria, recruitment, training, set action and targets, appraise and manage performance, development, coaching and general support of all team members to ensure targets are met
· Reporting (content and format as agreed) on a monthly basis as agreed
· Developing plans for team activities to include strategy to achieve agreed targets
· Assist in the development and preparation of the organisation’s commercial process strategy and general business planning
· Set an example for team members of commitment, commercial process activities, work ethics and habits and personal character
· Maintain accurate records
· Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet agreed budgetary controls
· Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures
· Interact and co-operate with all members of the organisation, its suppliers and customers
From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role.
You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with the General Manager and contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation generally.

 



Qualifications for Commercial Manager

  • 5+ years prior experience in business development or marketing fields
  • A proven history of successful leadership
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a strategic thinker and a have strong negotiation skills
  • Possess a collaborative mindset and work well as part of a team
  • Superior time management abilities and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Up to date on industry trends, as well as laws and regulations
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry contacts
