Job Title: Civil Engineer – Tanga
Position Type: Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Tanga, Tanzania

Role Overview

The Civil Engineer shall be responsible for supervising, monitoring, and ensuring the proper execution of all civil engineering works in accordance with project specifications, standards, and approved designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day civil works execution.
• Review drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Monitor quality of construction materials and workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
• Inspect completed works and certify compliance with design requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, laboratory personnel, and project stakeholders.
• Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues.
• Monitor project progress and provide technical reports.
• Review contractors’ work plans, technical submittals, and shop drawings.
• Ensure implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with a recognized engineering institution.
• Must have served as a Civil Engineer in at least one airport construction project within the last ten (10) years.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering works.
• Experience in airside and landside infrastructure works, pavement construction, drainage systems, and associated airport facilities will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of construction standards, specifications, and contract administration.
