Direct Aid Society (DAS) is Non-government Organization officially registered in Tanzania in 1992.

The organization focuses on social services such as education, welfare and health services.

On the side of health services DAS seeks to recruit in its new hospital (Direct Aid Hospital) an individual who is passionate as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide strategic direction and leadership so as to achieve a mission, vision and values a per established policies and guidelines of DAS.

Job Description

The CEO is responsible to provide strategic direction and leadership towards the achievement of the Hospital’s mission, vision and values in accordance with established policies and guidelines. The CEO will oversee the overall Hospital operations including clinical and support. The workforce will comprise of more than 400 employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To oversee the development of a well-focused Hospital vision and mission and to coordinate, evaluate and monitor implementation;
  2. The incumbent will oversee the formulation and review of the I Iospitals functional policies, strategics, programmes, plans, systems and procedures and to co-ordinate their implementation;
  3. Support the development and implementation of I Iospital strategic plan, resource mobilization and operational sustainability;
  4. Control and co-ordinate the functions and activities of all Departments and Units;
  5. Co-ordinate, evaluate, and monitor performance of the Hospital to ensure timely implementation of planned activities and within the I Iospital budget;
  6. Manage and administer all financial and non-financial resources of the Hospital in accordance with the highest standards and sense of responsibility;
  7. Ensure maintenance of good working relations at the Hospital and to coordinate with relevant Ministries, organizations and individuals on matters of interest to the Hospital;
  8. Ensure service delivery is of high quality, exceeding the clients’ expectations, exciting and delighting our customers everyday

Educational qualifications and Relevant Experience

  1. Holder of Master Degree in Medicine or related qualifications in one of the medical related fields. The candidate should be registered by respective professional board. Holder of a Super Specialization Certificate or a PhD shall have an added advantage.
  2. Must have work experience of at least twelve (12) years of which three (3) years should be served at a Managerial level in a major Hospital or integrated Healthcare system
  3. Familiarity and experience in healthcare quality management and maintaining a patient-focused service in a continual learning environment
  4. International experience, including in developing countries is preferred (but not essential)
  5. A strategic thinker who is a motivator of Department I leads. Managers and staff
  6. Results and systems oriented
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  8. Ability to plan and execute mandate according to the Hospital strategic vision, mission and values.
  9. Demonstrated financial acumen with the ability to manage costs and revenues.
