MCB Company Limited is a company owned by Mbeya University of Science and Technology, established to provide professional services in construction industry, including engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, project management, and related fields.
The Company invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and reputable individuals to serve as Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
Chairperson of the Board of Directors – (1 Post)
1.1 Duties And Responsibilities
i. Provide strategic leadership and governance oversight;
ii. Lead Board effectiveness and management oversight; and
iii. Oversee financial, operational, and stakeholder performance.
1.2 Academic Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
i. A Master’s Degree in Science (MSc), Business Administration (MBA), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
ii. A certificate in Corporate Governance/Board Leadership (e.g., Institute of Directors Tanzania (IoDT) or an equivalent recognized institution) and/or Project Management (e.g., PMI) will be an added advantage.
1.3 Professional Experience
Applicants should have:
i. Membership or registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., ERB, AQRB, NBAA, or equivalent) is desirable;
ii. At least ten (10) years of progressive professional experience in the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sector;
iii. At least five (5) years of experience in senior executive management or board-level leadership; and
iv. Demonstrated success in providing strategic leadership and oversight of large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, including management of multi-million project portfolios.
1.4 Tenure
The Chairperson shall serve a term of four (4) years and shall be eligible for reappointment for one additional term, subject to applicable laws and governing instruments.
1.5 Remuneration
The Chairperson of the Board of Directors shall be entitled to remuneration and other applicable benefits as provided under the MCB Incentive Scheme.

i. All applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania and must be at least 35 years old but not more than 70 years old;

iv. Applicants must attach a detailed and signed Curriculum Vitae (CV), including the names and full contact addresses of three (3) referees;
v. Applicants must attach certified copies of their academic and professional certificates;
vi. Certificates awarded by foreign universities must be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU);
vii. Certificates issued by foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced Level education must be verified by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA);
viii. The submission of forged certificates or any false information will result in automatic disqualification and may lead to legal action;
ix. Applicants must attach a recent passport-size photograph and a certified copy of their birth certificate;
x. Applicants must possess a National Identification Number (NIN) issued by the National Identification Authority (NIDA);
xi. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed of the date of the interview; and
