About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development Lead to drive strategic growth, build strong partnerships, and expand DigiCash’s presence across the fintech  and payments ecosystem.

You will play a critical role in converting qualified  opportunities into long-term business partnerships while working closely  with leadership, product, operations, and technical teams.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives  in high-growth environments, understands the Tanzanian fintech  ecosystem, and is passionate about building scalable commercial relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and convert qualified leads into signed commercial partnerships.
  • Drive the full business development lifecycle from prospecting and meetings to negotiations and onboarding.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants, enterprise clients, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
  • Present DigiCash products and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with operations, product, and technical teams to ensure successful integrations and partner success.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, reporting,  and CRM updates for all opportunities and engagements.
  • Lead commercial discussions, partnership negotiations, and contract follow-ups.
  • Participate in revenue reviews and provide regular pipeline and growth  updates to leadership.
  • Identify market opportunities, customer pain points, and industry trends to support product and commercial strategy.
  • Ensure high responsiveness, structured follow-up, and professional communication across all engagements.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Partnerships, or Account

Management within Fintech, Banking, Telecom,  or Payments.

  • Strong understanding of digital payments, collections, disbursements, APIs, and financial services infrastructure.
  • Existing network and relationships within the Tanzanian fintech, enterprise, banking, or government ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills in both

English and Swahili.

  •       Strong commercial mindset with proven experience managing and closing B2B

partnerships.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, operational, and leadership teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with disciplined pipeline and follow-up management.
  • Ability to explain complex financial and technical products in simple business language.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with payment gateways, mobile money operators, or banking integrations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales pipeline management tools.
  • Experience handling enterprise or government-related partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the Tanzanian fintech and regulatory landscape.
  • Experience in high-growth startups or fast-paced technology companies.
  • Understanding of API-based financial products and integrations.
