Number of vacancies: Six
Contract type: Three-year term, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and applicable procedures.
Organization background
Korosho Investment Tanzania Limited (KITL) is a subsidiary company established by the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania as a private company under the Companies Act, Cap. 212.
The Company is responsible for mobilizing investment resources, identifying investment opportunities, facilitating strategic partnerships and supporting initiatives that promote sustainable growth and competitiveness in the cashew industry in Tanzania.
KITL operates through its Head Office in Mtwara.
To strengthen the Company’s governance and strategic oversight, KITL invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill six Board Member positions.
On behalf of KITL, applications are invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians for appointment to these positions.
Roles and responsibilities of the Board of Directors
Successful candidates will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to the Company, including:
- Overseeing the Company’s vision, mission, strategic objectives and long-term sustainability.
- Supporting sustainable investments and innovation within the cashew value chain and other profitable ventures across various industries.
- Approving corporate strategies, annual business plans and budgets.
- Ensuring effective corporate governance and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Government directives.
- Monitoring the Company’s financial performance, investments and risk management.
- Monitoring the performance of Management and ensuring accountability.
- Ensuring prudent utilization of the Company’s resources.
- Promoting integrity, transparency and ethical business conduct.
Academic qualifications
Applicants must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized higher-learning institution in any of the following fields:
- Business Administration.
- Finance.
- Accounting.
- Economics.
- Law.
- Agriculture.
- Agribusiness.
- Engineering.
- Investment Management.
- Project Management.
- Corporate Governance.
- Marketing.
- Science.
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Any other related field relevant to the mandate of Korosho Investment Tanzania Limited.
Added advantage
Possession of a Master’s Degree in any of the following fields will be an added advantage:
- Business Administration.
- Finance.
- Accounting.
- Economics.
- Law.
- Project Management.
- Agriculture.
- Agricultural Economics.
- Agribusiness.
- Marketing.
- International Trade.
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Communication.
- Any other related field relevant to KITL’s mandate.
General requirements
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of Tanzania aged between 35 and 55 years.
- Attach a recent Curriculum Vitae with reliable referees and contact details.
- Possess a minimum of five years of relevant working experience, of which at least three years must have been served in a senior-management position.
- Attach certified copies of the following documents:
- Postgraduate and Degree Certificates, where applicable.
- Professional Certificates.
- Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
- Birth Certificate.
- Ensure that certificates issued by foreign examination bodies for Ordinary and Advanced Level education are verified by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
- Ensure that professional and academic certificates obtained from foreign universities and other training institutions are verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and the relevant competent authority.
