DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Collaborate with Farmers to run experimental farms and class farms;

ii. Visiting Farmers / Farmers’ Groups on their farms and providing professional advice on best and most modern commercial farming techniques;

iii. Educating and informing Farmers on the best use of fertilizers, pesticides and agricultural implements;

iv. Collecting and maintaining agricultural statistics in the Village;

v. Designing and preparing modern crop storage sheds and providing education on the proper use of crops;

vi. Provide information on the symptoms of plant and crop pests;

vii. Prepare and use the agricultural register in carrying out its day-to-day responsibilities;

viii. Participate in the process of identifying development opportunities and barriers and developing a Village Agricultural Development Plan; and

ix. Prepare a monthly implementation report and submit it to the Ward Extension Officer and a copy to submit to the Village Executive Officer.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
To employ Form Four (IV) graduates with a Diploma in Agriculture from Government recognized colleges.
