Job Description


Duties

Administrative duties and Events Coordination: 50%

Assists with the Letters of Requests (LORs) and Letters of Acceptance (LOA) and LOAs for the FMS cases when requested by OSC, Chief.

Receiving and Screening calls and visitors from host country military (TPDF) concerning Security Assistance and the Training program.

Coordinates and synchronizes M2M events for the Office of Security Cooperation with the TPDF Defense Foreign Relations Office.

Coordinates and contributes to frequent official visits to the Defense Attaché Office and Office of Security Cooperation.

Assist in arranging appointments and may accompany visitor to meetings with government and other officials. Extensive knowledge provides valuable information on current events, local government insight, and regional affairs.

Provides interpreter service for American Officers, especially when nuance of meaning is important.

Receives and screens calls and visitors from the host country military concerning the Security Assistance and Training Program. Answers inquiries on policies, routine matters, status of actions, and course availability.

Disseminates information only on a need to know basis. When requested information is not available, obtains and forwards information to appropriate persons or refers callers to the proper source. Places local and long distances calls and faxes.

Sets up and maintains correspondence reports and documents files.

Classifies and files material based upon content as well as subject and document identification. Establishes and maintains office library of related publications, regulations and directives. Screens files periodically and retires or destroys files no longer required.

Training Coordination: 30%

Vetting/Screening all International students to ensure that prerequisites are met to include: administers the Defense Language Institute’s English Comprehensive level tests as well as the Training of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and any other test for the required courses.

Maintaining all student training records.

Preparation of invitational orders.

Prepares student biographies and academic records.

Prepares visa applications.

Coordinating and arranging travel plans.

Prepares and requests travel advances for students attending training.

Medical screening of students and dependents.

Conducts pre-departure briefing and debriefs students upon return to host nations to assess how valuable the training was from the students and to obtain their recommendations/views on how best to serve them under the International Military Education and Training (IMETP).

Downloads and Update of Standardized Training List.

Daily access to the Security Assistance Network (SAN) for updates on courses available and changes made to the Standard Training List (STL).

Works with the country program managers of the five military departments (MILDEPS) to implement the Tanzanian training requirements.

Inputs the courses into the Training Management System (TMS) and the web based Security Assistance Network.

Prepares the yearly host country’s military two-year Combined Education and Training Plan (CETP) and the Congressional Report on International Military Training (CRMIT) report of all Foreign Military Services (FMS), African Contingency and Training Assistance (ACOTA), Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) trainings in-country.
