Job Advert – Accounting Officer

On behalf of our client, a pine processing and exporting company located in Mafinga, we are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping and financial recording

• Record all financial transactions accurately and promptly.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly classified, coded, and supported by appropriate documentation.
• Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and supplier accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Process supplier invoices, verify accuracy, and prepare payments for approval.
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding client balances, and report ageing receivables accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of all customer invoices, receipts, and outstanding balances.

Financial reporting and analysis

• Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Ensure reports comply with accounting standards and company policies
• Assist with month-end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Review accounting information for accuracy and assist in resolving discrepancies
• Respond to accounting-related inquiries from vendors, customers and internal team members

Requirements:

• Must have a Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA) is an added advantage.
• At least 1- 2 years’ experience in a similar role. –
• Experience in the manufacturing and exportation industry is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
