In partnership with the Vodafone Foundation, Girl Effect has launched a new brand for adolescent girls in Tanzania to deliver behaviour change mobile products and off-line activities. This will include a website, Facebook page, IVR content and chatbots. We are also partnering with existing networks of girl ambassadors and girls’ clubs to broaden the reach and impact of our products.

Girl Effect is looking for an exceptional creative lead to deliver the content for the brand. The Senior Brand & Content Manager will oversee the development and delivery of all creative content for Girl Effect’s brand in Tanzania.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage Girl Effect’s brand in Tanzania and the development and delivery of all creative content on the brand platforms
  • Develop and implement the brand strategy to ensure the brand is rooted in youth culture and represents the voice of youth, acting as the guardian of the brand
  • Bring your experience and expertise in media, digital and content to ensure the quality of content is aligned with Girl Effect’s standards, country strategy and partner objectives
  • Co-ordinate all production activities in-country, ensuring that media is delivered on time, on brief and on budget
  • Manage all aspects of Girl Effect’s relationships with creative and production partners
  • Recruit and manage content teams or suppliers, including but not limited to writers, producers, designers, photographers
  • Review and sign off all content, ensuring alignment to brand values and partnership objectives – this may include creating content or copywriting as needed
  • Lead content creation workshops or brand trainings as required for new team members for the content teams
  • Seek out new collaborators and partners that align with the brand, including youth partners and creative organisations
  • Work closely with the Senior Programmes & Partnerships Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of partnership programmes
  • Collaborate with the Girl Effect global team on content and brand requirements
  • Manage the budget for content, production and brand spend
  • Support the establishment of a new office, including establishing systems and processes to ensure smooth delivery, growth and sustainability of our in-country work

Who You Are

  • You are an experienced creative professional with experience in media brands, ideally with experience in creating content for digital platforms
  • You have an understanding of the use of media to drive social and behavioural change
  • You have experience bringing together and coordinating creative and production partners, and of working directly with producers, writers, and artists
  • You have a deep understanding of and commitment to delivering work that can speak to young people in Tanzania
  •  You have a network of contacts in the Tanzanian creative and media community
  • You have experience building capacity in media/creative partners
  • You’re financially literate and are confident in matters of budget development and oversight
  • You’re driven and able to deliver against key timelines and deadlines, through prioritisation and organisation
  • You enjoy taking the initiative and making decisions as part of a complex and varied workload
  • You can demonstrate a commitment to realising the potential of girls and to the vision and values of Girl Effect
  • You’re able to work with others at a distance and use systems for sharing information to support this
  • You’re confident at developing presentations and public speaking to be able to externally represent the work we do with passion and energy
  • You’re fluent in Kiswahili and English, with a high level in writing in both languages
  • (Desirable) You have experience in delivering gender-aware or gender-sensitive programmes
