A. 40% of Time

Performs a full range of personnel investigation-related activities to determine the suitability of employees
for local mission employment. Investigations include but are not limited to conducting interviews, meeting references, developing sources for further investigation, verifying supporting documentation, and conducting residential checks. Incumbent prepares detailed reports summarizing investigative findings.

B. 15% of Time

Provides liaison between host country police officials and forwards pertinent threat and intelligence information to the RSO for review.

C. 10% of Time

Provides guidance to the Security Assistant, Surveillance Detection Coordinator, and Local Guard Coordinator in all aspects of the Regional Security Office, especially the Police Liaison Program and VIP visits.

D. 15% of Time

Develops and nurtures a network of contacts within the Tanzanian Government ensuring smooth operation of U.S.Embassy operations within Tanzania.

E. 10% of Time

At the direction of the RSO travels to areas within Tanzania to liaise with local officials ensuring the safety and security of American citizens. Performs protective service operations when high-level US government officials visit Tanzania and during special events.

F. 10% of Time

Provides response and coordination for all Mission employees involved in problems with host country police officials, crimes and accidents. Operates the Mission’s program of clearing incoming firearms. Serves as post’s Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) incident response team leader ensuring all team members are property trained and equipped to respond.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years of progressive work in the military, police, private security or U.S. Government experience is required.

 

Education Requirements:
Completion of Secondary School is required. Certificate in Law or Business is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Level IV in English (spoken/written/reading) required and Level IV Kiswahili (spoken/written/reading) Is required. (this may be tested)
