JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT (On Behalf of the Employer)

Position: Mathematics & Physics Teacher (Forms I–Vi)

Duty Station: Dar es Salaam (with occasional school/TVET events)
Reports to: Head Master / Head of Department
Contract Type: Full-time, 12 months renewable
Start Date: As soon as possible

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Mathematics and Physics (Forms I–VI) aligned to NECTA
  • Mathematics scope: number & sets, algebra & functions, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, sequences & series, vectors & matrices, probability & statistics, calculus (differentiation/integration), mechanics foundations.
  • Physics scope: mechanics, thermal physics, waves & optics, electricity & magnetism, atomic & nuclear basics, electronics/ICT applications, experimental design & data analysis.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, marking guides; set, invigilate and mark tests/examinations.
  • Lead laboratory practicals and ensure lab safety, apparatus care, and accurate practical records; integrate simulations and low-cost experiments.
  • Use continuous assessment data (gradebooks/trackers) to drive remediation/enrichment and improve outcomes.
  • Maintain excellent classroom management, safeguarding, and professional conduct per Tanzanian law and school policy.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, moderation, co-curricular STEM clubs/competitions, and continuous professional development.

C. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Mathematics/Physics) or B.Sc. Mathematics/Physics + PGDE (registered teacher per MoE/PO-RALG).
• 2+ years teaching Mathematics and/or Physics at O-/A-level with evidence of exam outcomes.
• Demonstrated competence in lab management, practical assessment, and ICT for instruction/gradebooks (Excel/Google Sheets).
• Excellent communication in English and Kiswahili; high integrity, teamwork, and learner-centered practice.
